I am engaged when supporting and leading ministry teams in developing a large vision, along with implementation and the administrative functions required for success. I enjoy making ministry seamless and pleasurable for the staff and team members. I want to utilize all of my gifts and abilities to reach and transform hearts for Christ. Helping individuals and the organization achieve missionary success within ministry is gratifying .

  I believe the church is one institution Christ promised to build and bless. He said, "I will build My church; and the gates of Hades shall not overpower it" (Matt. 16:18). Christ's purpose in the world is to call to Himself a redeemed people who would live to the praise of His glory. He is building the church. As a pastor I take great comfort and confidence for having a small part in our Lord's great work. 

  The corporate functions of the Body all take place in the church. The church is where God has ordained His people to meet together to celebrate the Lord's Supper, to worship Him, and to encourage and edify one another. It is my joy to support God's people with worship, just as the psalmist said, "Come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord our Maker. For He is our God, and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand" (Ps. 95:6-7).

 I am directly responsible to God for the lives of the people at my church. I'm not as personally accountable for how people apply God's Word. As pastor, I need to have a relationship with individuals that promote growth and accountability. I watch over their souls as one "who will give an account" (Heb. 13:17).

 I am also accountable to the people in my church. Everything is exposed to them: my life and family, my personal strengths and weaknesses–everything. I cherish that accountability. It is a constant encouragement for me to reflect Christ in everything I say and do. Preparing sermons by researching and writing about how to present Bible lessons to the congregation to meet their spiritual needs is skill and honor I cherish. Officiating at special occasions in the lives of the congregation, such as confirmations, .weddings, baptisms and funerals are ways the church can serve and connect

Senior Pastor Parkside & The Rock House, Burlington, IA (12 years)

Parkside church was in danger of closing, but with vision and strategies it exploded in overall growth. The growth has come through every avenue. Within a few years the church has tripled its budget and income. Responsibilities included two high use facilities that encompassed 25,000 sq ft located on 12 acres. 

Executive Pastor Heart of the Canyons, Santa Clarita, CA (4 years) 

Heart of the Canyons Church has now grown to over 600 members and attendees. Responsible for multiple venues and locations utilizing 60,000 sq ft. As the Executive Administrator (Chief Operating Officer), I work closely with stakeholders, strategically implementing the vision. My primary responsibility is to oversee and develop the administrative and community development aspects.

Executive/Associate Pastor Bethany Church of Sierra Madre, Sierra Madre, CA (10 Years)  

Bethany had weekly attendance of 450+. Annual Budget: $1,150,000.00 Mission Giving: $110,000.00 along with a growing children’s, junior high, and high school ministries. Provided leadership for the K-8th grade school with 300+ enrollment that impacted a large facility on 3 acres daily.

Community Manager with Desert Resort Management serving over 1500 homes, amenities, security and sports venues. Palm Desert, CA (1 year bi-vocational work)   

Community Manager with Cimarron Trials 55+ community with 160 homes, amenities and 300 RV’s San Tan Valley AZ (1 year before transfering back to California)  

Community Manager with The Palms @ La Quinta, La Quinta, CA Serving 170 residences, restaurant, housekeeping and maintenance. Supervises 38 employees (2 years of service.) 

Operations/Executive Manager (Pyrotek Corporation, Santa Fe Springs, CA) 

Direct Operations for an $8 million manufacturer and international distributor of advance metals processing technology products. Directly report to corporate in Spokane, Washington. Manage 43 people through 5 direct reports covering all operational functions: Machine Shop, Welding, Painting, Stamping, Test and Inspection, Quality, Material Control, Purchasing, shipping, receiving and maintenance for a 40,000 sq. ft. facility. High volume production lines supporting consumables and capital equipment products. 

Operations/Executive Manager (Neff Instrument Corporation, Monrovia, CA) 

Direct Operations for a $5-9 million manufacturer of high technology products. Directly reported to the President. Managed 20-30 people through 4 direct reports covering all operational functions: Inside/Outside Manufacturing, Test, Quality, Inspection, Material Control, Purchasing, MIS, Manufacturing Engineering, Machine Shop, and Maintenance for a 27,000 sq. ft. facility.Collaborated with team members in the identification and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives and action plans. 

Electro/Mechanical Design Supervisor(Conrac Corporation, Duarte, CA.) 

Supervised 20 designers and CAD operators. Provided technical guidance to employees in areas of mechanical and PCB design. Supervised checking of engineering documents to ensure accuracy and completeness. Distributed work assignments to maximize efficient use of departmental resources. Assisted with mechanical design of sheet metal, castings, machining tooling, and PCB layout for military/aerospace monitors, aircraft vanes and stall warning computers. 

Public Sector Experience 

Adjunct Instructor Engineering/CAD Southeastern Community College, West Burlington, IA 

Instructor for Computer Aided Design, Engineering and Architecture Applications. Provided energetic, outgoing and detail oriented instruction. I maintained teaching assignments for each module and provided instruction in accordance with the approved curriculum. I ensured that the quality and quantity of instruction provided in the classroom is consistent with the stated objectives of the school and industry that required maintaining daily records of student attendance and grades in accordance with school policy. It was a personal passion to ensure that the classroom and school’s atmosphere was conductive to maximum learning. 

Elected Duarte Unified School Board Member Duarte, CA. 

I was part of an elected team that made large strides in reshaping vision and opportunities for student learning. Duarte Unified serves 4400 students with 500 employees and 8 campuses providing education for Kindergarten through High School. I helped recruit top talent in key positions that supported vision and zeal. I helped cultivate and implement joint partnerships with the City of Duarte and private sectors that supported student growth and best “Bang for the Buck.” I was a key leader for community education and a bond campaign that provided 44 million dollars for improving existing buildings, increasing energy efficiency, developing science laboratories, infrastructure improvements and building a new High School library that passed with strong community support. I was part of a leadership team that worked with the architecture and construction team to implement successful construction schedules. Students achieved marked academic improvement.
